The Fan's Place is an app that makes fantasy sports feel light, bite sized, and incentivizes playing while watching live with your friends at sports bars. To get ready to go to market, they needed a brand that was ready for primetime. The goal was to create something fun and accessable, that was definitely for sports fans, but not exclusively. So we looked at the myriad of other gambling/sports apps out there, and definitely pulled some familiar language from the landscape, but also looked for inspiration in other successful gamified apps that kept you coming back for more.
Because TFP might not always be just about sports (fantasy The Bachelor anyone?), we landed on a less sports centric direction, with a trophy that can double as an exclamation point – because free money is exciting! We also worked to keep a few logo treatments with the full name, while optimizing for space with the shortened TFP for other applications.
